Abortion is a very hard topic to talk about. People seem to have many different opinions when it comes to abortion. I’m in the middle when in comes to being for it and against it. I am for abortion if: a girl is raped or the mother is a drug addict. I am not for abortion if a girl is just too lazy to get birth control and just gets an abortion for no reason. I dont believe a baby should be brought into this world if the parents can’t even support it. I would hope if the mother and father of a baby being born that can’t support it would give it up for adoption. I know that after waiting so long you are killing a human life, but why let it keep living if its just going to go through hell the rest of its life. Or if the girl that was raped ended having her child, the child wouldn’t know the original father in most cases. Or if the girl that was a drug addict had the child, the newborn wouldn’t either not survive, or have many problems with its health in the future. I’ve known girls that have gotten over four abortions because its soo hard for them to be responsible, I don’t think thats right. I believe if you end up pregnant and it’s your own fault, you should have to suffer the consequences, but then again, if i was stuck in the situation of having a baby while i’m going through college, i dont know if i would be able to do it or not…. It’s a confusing topic for me, but its hard not to be a hypocrit in the situation.

hey i was just looking around for some information on abortions. i have to write a research paper on it for my AP English class.
i agree with you a lot, they say that a woman should have the right to make a CHOICE and have an abortion because its her body, but becese the baby itself isn’t concidered a human until it takes its first breath, it isn’t allowed to have the choice to live or die.
I can see if a woman got an abortion if she was raped or molested, but once that baby is far enough along to have a heart beat, it is HUMAN wheather society wants to believe it or not.
Abortion is one of the United Sates’ largest controversies and has been for a long time. I too am stuck in the middle on this topic. If a female of any age happens to become pregnant for any reason, it is her responsability, and the father’s as well, to decide what is going to take place. What gets me stuck in the middle is the number of possibilities that are the cause of a pregnancy. Lets say a young teenage girl gets raped and she finds out she is pregnant. Does she keep the baby or not? Well you need to look at what is meant by not keeping the baby. Does it mean that she is going to go full term and then put the baby up for adoption or is she going to exterminate the pregnancy? Nobody can ever decide this except for the parents of the child. Lets look at it now where a young couple got pregnant and the woman did not want the baby, but the father of the baby does. Do you make her go full term? The father has just as much parental right to that baby as she does. You would also have to look at health risks. Can the soon-to-be mother go through the full pregnancy? Could this kill her? What if it were a case where a young girl. or any girl for that matter, was raped and she also was too small to carry the baby full term? Well the answer is simple, is it not?
There are so many different ways to go about judging an abortion; that I am sure there will not be a comprimise any time soon. You have to evaluate the situation, the age of the rape victim, the health of the rape victim, and how far along the pregnancy is. There are general legal guidlines to follow for abortions. For instance you cannot terminate the pregnancy if you have entered the second trimester. I have seen pictures of babies who were aborted at four months in the womb and the only thing I could do was cry. Some of the methods that are used for an abortion are very painful.
When it comes to abbortion, there are many things to evaluate but in the end, who decides what is the right decision?
